How to play 8 Ball Pool
- Choose a mode
Practice against the computer, take turns with a friend on one device, or sign in and create a private match with an invite code.
- Aim and shoot
Move to aim, then hold and pull back to set power and release to shoot. On a phone, drag to aim and pull the thumb cue.
- Clear your group
The first ball you pot after the break makes solids or stripes yours. Pot your group, then call a pocket and sink the 8 to win.
Tips to improve
- Think one ball ahead. Where the cue ball stops matters as much as the pot.
- Use back spin to stop the cue ball short and top spin to follow through.
- When there is no good pot, leave the cue ball where your opponent has no easy shot.
- A soft, accurate shot beats a hard one. Fast balls rattle in the jaws.
