How to play Bowling
- Stand
Drag the ball left or right along the foul line to choose where you stand.
- Bowl
Swipe up the lane toward the pins. The direction aims and the speed sets power. Curve your swipe to add hook, which bends the ball into the pocket late in the lane.
- Score ten frames
Knock down all ten pins with one ball for a strike, or with two for a spare. Bonuses follow the official rules, and back-to-back strikes earn calls from Double to Turkey and beyond.
Tips to improve
- The pocket is between the head pin and the pin just behind it on your hook side. Hit it at an angle for the most strikes.
- Too much power with no hook deflects off the head pin and leaves splits.
- For a single corner pin, aim straight across the lane from the opposite side.
- Repeat what works. A consistent stance and power make your hook easier to read.
- Run the Spare Drill to learn the common leaves, from the lone 10 pin to the 7-10 Bedposts. Spares win more games than strikes.
Questions
Can I earn money playing Bowling?
Yes, as a free DayDimes member. Bowling has 6 one-time goals worth 100 Tickets in all, up to 40 for “Score 200+ in one game”, and every minute you play counts toward daily game quests worth up to 60 Tickets a day. Swap your Tickets for PayPal Cash or gift cards in your account.
Is DayDimes Bowling free?
Yes. It is free to play and no Tickets are ever spent. Members also earn Tickets from daily game quests.
How is bowling scored?
A strike scores 10 plus your next two balls; a spare scores 10 plus your next ball. In the tenth frame a strike or spare earns bonus balls. A perfect game is 300.
Can I bowl with friends?
Yes. Up to four players can bowl on one device. You can also face three computer bowlers: Rookie Rae (Easy), Steady Stan (Normal) and Pocket Paz (Pro).
What is the Spare Drill?
Ten classic spare leaves, one ball each, scored out of 10. Finishing it once unlocks Sunset Lanes.
How do I unlock alleys and balls?
Cosmic Night opens after two games and Sunset Lanes after one Spare Drill. Seven balls unlock through strikes, turkeys, scores of 150 and 200, and the drill. Your best game, average and strike stats are saved on your device.
How do I throw a hook?
Curve your swipe as you bowl, or set the hook with the plus and minus buttons. The ball skids straight on the oiled front of the lane and hooks on the dry back end.
